My next stop on my TRAVEL THERAPY sailing tour was a quick forty-five minute sail to northern Virgin Gorda where you can find the award-winning Biras Creek Resort. This unique resort, with only 31 cozy cottages and dirt roads, sprawls over 140 acres so to get around you’re given bicycles. One of my first discoveries was…. a private beach where I was the only person around and it felt like pure paradise relaxing in a hammock in the shade. For a quick snack I rode my bike over to the Fat Virgin Cafe, a great stop if you just want to munch on something simple because the real treat comes at dinner.
That night I feasted like royalty at the Biras Creek Restaurant, one of the most romantic venues in the BVI. Before leaving the next morning I took a dip in the pool and tried out the small spa and was delighted to find talented therapists who helped me continue my blissful experience.
For the next stop in my British Virgin Island adventure I needed to do some serious sailing to a remote island that few sailors are able to visit because so many have ended up shipwrecked on the reefs surrounding this tiny spec of paradise.
My captain assured me he could navigate the journey we headed toward the island of Anegada, known for it’s lobster BBQ on the beach where you call ahead on your boat’s radio and order your lobster that they then go get it fresh right then and you dine on your lobster on the beach and this is some of the largest lobster you’ll ever see.
Anegada is also known as having some of the best secluded beaches and some of the most amazing snorkeling in the Caribbean so this island truly is a must see if you can navigate your way there. The journey continues tomorrow…
