I’m headed off this morning to explore a part of Mexico few people even know much less know how to pronounce and it’s a place I’ve also never been so I’m always excited to explore something new! A new resort there is already creating quite a buzz and is getting top marks as a luxury escape, honeymoon haven and secluded hideaway, the true triple threat!!! Plus, you just know it’s going to be good when the property is small the ocean-front suites have their own infinity edge swimming pool. This is why I wanted to check it out… First of all just pronouncing the destination is a challenge. Zihuatanejo, Mexico. Yup, that’s a mouthful. It’s pronounced Z-want-en-ay-ho and it’s the fourth largest city in the state of Guerrero, Mexico, on the Pacific Coast about 140 northwest of Acapulco. I’m looking forward to checking out the property I’m staying at because it’s a new property run by Tides and I loved their resort in the Riviera Maya!

This company is known for hip, chic, luxury resorts catering to a crowd that likes to be pampered!  To get here you fly into Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo International Airport and it’s just a 12 minute ride to the resort.  From my early research I’ve found this luxury beach hotel, Tides Zihuatanejo has 70 guestrooms set up in two-story adobe like casita homes. The rooms to get are the suites (there are 35). Of course if you really want to splurge you can go for the Presidential Suites. There are several restaurants right on the beach, we’re having dinner at one tonight, and there is the new Mayordomo Service where you’re basically spoiled rotten by personal butlers who are ready to make sure you vacation is truly special.

Since this is a part of Mexico I haven’t explored before I’ve also set up to do some adventure trips, including an ATV tour so I’ll let you know more about that when I get there, that is depending on how well the internet service is. It’s always tricky when you’re traveling to Mexico. If I’m not able to blog from there I’ll have the latest on Monday when I return. My flights in an hour. Gotta run More soon!

Thanks for another great idea for a holiday. The only Mexican resort I have been to is Cozumel’s Occidental Grand and they really understand customer service. It’s an all inclusive, which tends to make me cautious, but this resort allayed my concerns. It is also beautiful.

Again, thanks for the idea. I like off the beaten path destinations, as well as tourist hot spots.

Hi – I don’t comment on many sites but had to on yours. It’s fantastic! I really like how you write – very to the point, unlike a lot of other blogs. Thanks for having this site. I don’t have time to read it all right now, I found this site when looking for something else on about.com, but I’ve bookmarked your homepage and will visit again soon. Please bookmark my recipe web site at http://www.KAChef.com. Keep up the great work!
