NYC Top Hotel

The first time I ever stayed in a NYC hotel was in 1999 when I was flying family in for a fabulous theatre and dining weekend. We were going to see Lion King and eat at Le Cirque restaurant and it was really important that their first experience in the City be a postive one and I researched for days before finally selecting the right hotel.  I wanted something central to all the action and that’s why this one stood out as a winner.

The New York Marriott Marquis Time Square is the perfect choice if you’re staying in the city and you want to be just a short taxi ride from some of the top theatres and dining in the area. As crazy busy as Manhattan is and as large as the Marriott is ( 49 floors, 1892 rooms, 57 suites) for some reason the way it’s laid out is user friendly so even a novice traveler can feel confident staying here. My family loved it and while at first their jaws dropped to the floor they quickly learned to love the glitz and the glam and the fact that they still could find their way back to the room!

On my first trip staying in the City I made the mistake of going during the week when I thought rates would be cheaper but quickly learned in NYC it’s actually the weekend rates that are your best bargains because during the week you have all the business travelers and the thus the higher rates.

I would definitely recommend spending the little extra money and staying on the level where breakfast is included. You don’t think it’s that big of deal until you try buying breakfast in the City and it’s always so nice to roll out of bed and just have an easy breakfast before you tackle your day.

I’ve been to NYC many times since but this hotel remains a favorite in all my TRAVEL THERAPY travels for all of the reasons above. If you’re headed that way…check out the latest deals and enjoy.
