Best of Central Park

If you can live by Central Park moving to Manhattan isn’t quite the culture shock you might feel if you live, for example, in the middle of the all craziness of the Times Square area or the Financial District.

No matter where you live, or if you’re just visiting NYC the perfect TRAVEL THERAPY after a hectic day negotiating the city is a walk through Central Park where the air just feels cleaner and the constant street noise of Manhattan disappears. I actually love the park on a cloudy, cold day during the week because you feel like you practically have all 843 acres to yourself! On these days  it’s hard to believe more than 25 million people visit the Central Park each year, on these days you feel like the park is your own private playground!

This NYC haven stretches from about 59th street to 110th street and there are literally dozens of and marks throughout  the park you shouldn’t miss but if time is limited some of my favorites include the bridge in this photograph, Bow Bridge, as well as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Belvedere Castle, Shakespeare Gardens, Tavern on the Green and the Central Park Zoo.

This is just scratching the surface of what there is to do in the park because list goes on and on and it seems like every walk in the park you can discover something new. If you’re feeling really ambitious try one of the walking tours offered by the Central Park Conservancy and of course you can also stroll through the park in a horse-drawn carriage or a bike taxi.

With an estimated worth of about $528 BILLION dollars Central Park is one of those rare NYC finds that’s fabulously free, but priceless, so even if it’s cold and rainy when you visit spend some time in the park, it’s one stop you really shouldn’t miss!
