Spa with a VIEW!

At the Willow Stream spa at the Fairmont Banff Springs the true TRAVEL THERAPY comes in the amazing scenery.

I’ve found on my TRAVEL THERAPY quest there are those spas you run to for a quick facial or pedicure and the surroundings don’t really matter as long as the treatments transcend, then there are the “destination spas” where you can only hope the scenery is part of your relaxation and that’s exactly what I found at this Fairmont property.

Tucked away in the Rocky Mountains about an hour from Calgary this property is more than 100 years old and when the spa was built it was designed to take advantage of the amazing mountain vistas. From the relaxation rooms, to the indoor and outdoor swimming pools and hot tubs the focus is the scenery. This is the kind of spa you want to spend several hours at after your treatment just soaking up the atmosphere! (Also, don’t miss the cookies in the afternoon, they’re worth every calorie!)

On the list of things to try one of the most popular items on the spa menu is the 60 minute Rockies Rehydration, a simple classic combination of a full body treatment with a mini hand and foot massage that’s perfect after a day on the slopes and also helps you leave your jet lag and parched skin behind.

Tonight we’re headed into Banff for a dinner at Fuze Finer Dining and then first thing tomorrow morning I’m headed out on the Johnstons Canyon Ice Walk. Not sure what to expect as I’ve never been on an “ice walk” before so I’m excited to experience something new and I’ll be taking my camera…so look for photos to follow!
