When I was visiting Cape Town, South Africa, I was surprised by how unique and luxurious some of the properties are, especially a new boutique hotel call the Ezard House. You can tell from the moment you arrive that your stay here will be like nothing you’ve ever experienced before.
The first thing that stands out at the Ezard House is the impressive and modern architecture and then when you learn the property was designed by the owner, Don Ezard, a musician and conductor from the U.K., it’s even more intriguing.
When I asked Don what his experience was he just grinned and told me he had no formal training when it came to design, but that he’d always had a great eye and a feel for what works.
So much so that apparently Nicolas Cage took the entire hotel for his honeymoon. Sweet! Tucked away along the slopes of Table Mountain in prestigious Camps Bay in Cape Town is chic but comfortable boutique property is the perfect retreat for anyone wanting the service of a luxury hotel but have a more intimate, private experience.
There are only a handful of rooms and each one has its own balcony with panoramic views of the water. There’s also a private pool and if you head up to the roof you’ll find a Jacuzzi that’s the perfect place to sip a class of champagne and watch the sunset. Perfection!
