If you’re headed to a TRAVEL THERAPY destination in the U.S., you better be sure to bring your credit card because one major airline is starting “cashless cabins”. This means if you want to buy that cocktail or snack you’ll have to use your credit card, cash is no longer accepted. Just when you think you’ve heard everything! Here’s what’s going on.
The airline is Alaska and starting today Alaska Airlines will have a “Cashless Cabin” setup where passengers have to pay for all on board purchases with a credit card. That includes any meals, snacks, cocktails, wine, beer and even those movie and music headphones.
Alaska says cash is no longer accepted onboard so you don’t have to worry about digging around for the exact change anymore.
Here are some questions. How long are these transactions going to take and what about the worry of identiy theft? What security measures are taken to protect your card information?
Trying to sweeten the deal Alaska says if you use Alaska’s Visa Card from Bank America you can get 10 extra air miles.
And of course Alaska gives a link on its sight where you can apply for that card.
What will the airlines think of next?
