The good news, there are amazing travel deals in the Caribbean and Mexico between June and November. The bad news, its Hurricane Season so you could get blown away, literally! Here’s how to take advantage of the spectacular travel specials and still protect yourself against getting caught in a storm.
It’s hard to resist taking advantage of the fantastic travel deals in the Caribbean and Mexico that start popping up around June and July and just get better as you head even deeper into Hurricane Season. Some top resorts slash their prices as much as 80 percent!!! Still, if you’re traveling during Hurricane Season it’s like playing Russian Roulette.
For 2008 its projected there will be anywhere from 12 to18 major storms. But still your gamble can pay off big if you follow these simple tips for traveling during Hurricane Season.

1. Make sure hotel has hurricane refunds
2. Get travel insurance that includes weather cancelations
3. Check airline’s policy re: weather delays & cancelations
4. Don’t check bags so you’re more flexible
5. Bring extra medications in case you get delayed
6. Let family/friends know where you’re going
7. Find out hotel evacuation policy
8. Be flexible if the week you’re traveling is bad, reschedule.
9. Stay updated on the weather
10. Be smart, nothing is worth risking your life, even a great deal.
