Help a Child!

So many people ask what they can do to help the orphaned children in Africa. Even if you aren’t able to travel and volunteer your time there is still so much you can do to help children in need. Here’s how.
I just got this note from Dana Blanchard, the woman who runs the Mtendere orphanage in Malawi, Africa. I met Dana when I was there in June volunteering for several weeks. Dana is an amazing person who has opened her heart to help these children. After a volunteer trip to the orphanage she decided to leave her home in Alabama and with her young daughter, just the two of them, moved to Malawi for a year to help run the orphanage and make sure the children are getting the help and attention they need.
She just sent the following note to the volunteers who have come to help and have met the children. There are more than 130 children at the orphanage and I can tell you they are all wonderful kids that are so thankful for any time and attention they are given. A simple hug can make them smile all day. Now to find out that by just giving $40 a month you can sponsor a child change their. Think about it only $40 that means just giving up a couple of Starbucks each month.
Can you help?
Here is what Dana wrote:
“Many of you know and love the children at Mtendere Village in Malawi Africa, so I thought it would be appropriate to give you a chance to sponsor one of the below children! If you have any friends or family who would be interested, please pass this along to them too! Also, you’ll be glad to know that we are looking for 4 sponsors for the children who live in the “GoGo’s house” on the property (the house with a thatch roof on the left side by the outside kitchen). We have been assisting them, but are now in need of funds for their school fees. I will receive their pictures soon. Sponsoring a child: $40 per month for food, clothing, school, tutoring, field trips. Know that 100% of your monthly support goes directly to Malawi without any administration costs.”

It takes so little to “Pay it Forward” and change a life!
