TRAVEL THERAPY ™

If you’re ready to take the plunge, literally, then one TRAVEL THERAPY you might want to try is rappelling.

Usually I’m the one taking the photos but this time a fellow travel writer Kent St. John snapped this shot of me just as I was about to go over the edge on my first rappelling experience. Click HERE for more pictures and Kent’s story on how we met over mojitos!

We were in the jungles of Puerto Rico doing an all day adventure trip that had has trekking through the jungle, wadding through streams, exploring caves, zip-lining and ultimately rappelling. 

I remember thinking we must need to take some sophisticated classes before doing something like this but, nope. The lesson was about 30 seconds and then they asked for the first victim, ah I mean participant, to try it out. 

Somehow that ended up being me! 

I wanted to get down first so I took take photos of everyone else but as I got near the edge I couldn’t help but wonder what the heck I was doing! 

Kent always has that twinkle in his eye like he’s up to something but he was a great sport full of encouragement and a few jokes, just the combination I needed to take that first step.
