One of the ultimate TRAVEL THERAPY trips I found when working on the TRAVEL THERAPY book that’s coming out in April was a volunteer vacation. An organization called voluntourism.com agrees and TRAVEL THERAPY was featured on a one hour webcast! 

David Clemmons is the founder of voluntourism.org and he has been volunteering himself since he was a young child. David’s passionate about giving back in this unique way and each week he hosts a one hour webcast interviewing people from around the world about their experiences with volunteer vacations staying on top of what is new and fresh.   David says his goal is to empower and educate people who might be interested in taking a trip. His next guest on the program is the founder of Madadventurer from the UK.  

For the show that TRAVEL THERAPY was featured on we talked about my experience volunteering in Malawi, Africa, and the challenges you face as a journalist trying to record the story and still allow yourself to “feel” the story when as a journalist you usually try and detach yourself and not get personally involved.   

The show also talked about how to sign up for a trip, how to pick the trip that’s right for you and where the trips are right now where you can give back.
