It’s Travel Tuesday on the TRAVEL THERAPY site so that means it’s time to feature some fabulous travel deals to help you plan your spring break escape.I was walking home from the gym this morning when I passed a corner grocery store that always has great flowers out front. Usually I breeze right by but this morning a bright splash of yellow caught my eye. Daffodils! Nothing says spring like these cheery perky flowers.

I found myself turning around and picking up a bunch and grinning all the way home. I can’t hop on a plane today but I can surround myself with the sights and smells of spring while I plan my next TRAVEL THERAPY trip. So the daffodils gave me the theme for today’s TRAVEL TUESDAY feature on the best spring break deals for 2009.

This is the time of year we all start itching for that change of season where winter evaporates into spring and we want a trip where we can celebrate and enjoy the start of warmer weather and a fantastic TRAVEL THERAPY destination to do that is the beach.

There are some fantastic airfare deals out there right now so just because a destination seems far away don’t let that stop you from checking it out. One of the best sites to compare airfare specials is www.kayak.com.

Top Spring Break Beach Destinations

Whether you’re looking for a place to take the family or you’re headed off with your friends there are some great deals on beach vacations right now. Hotels that usually crank up their prices for Spring Break are actually slashing rates right now to entice economy weary guests.

Here’s one fantastic example: To soak up the sun without draining your savings head to the St. Augustine, Florida area where 42 miles of sugar sand beaches are waiting to help you celebrate the start of spring! At Comfort Suites-World Golf Village you’ll find some family packages starting at just $130 a night and that includes a one-bedroom suite with two double queen beds so you have some space to spread out and there’s a yummy gift tray with chocolate drinks and cookies in your room when you arrive.

This great florida special in St. Augustine also includes two special gift bags for the kids that are packed with a snack, bottled water and a disposable camera so your kids can start capturing those family fun moments! If you want to leave the kids at home you can get 15 percent off a standard room. This florida hotel special is great because it lasts through December 2009!

I agree! Spring is so catchy and my screensaver just went to daffodils today to celebrate! Cabin fever is high amongst midwesterners and many are itching to go somewhere, anywhere that represents spring -even a natural area nearby (on the cheap way to break the fever=). We’ve always focused on daytripping, so it’s kinda nice to see folks getting back to simple travel or low cost travel instead of excess all the time. Wait until folks find out what good conversations come from less frill trips!

  11. travel therapy says:

Michele, I totally agree! I found so many amazing destinations when I was researching my TRAVEL THERAPY book that are inspiring AND affordable and these are trips you’ll talk about forever! Even in this economy people are still traveling but more then every you need to make the right destination choice! Spring fever is here! Bring on the daffodils!

  12. SDGO says:

We also have sample trip itineraries catered for family fun and the young spring breaker, essentially mapping out anything/everything you would want to do…check it out!
