TRAVEL THERAPY is all about changing your attitude by changing your environment and one inspiring journey you shouldn’t miss is seeing Phantom of the Opera on Broadway in New York City.

There’s a reason this is the longest running show in Broadway history, it’s AMAZING! I’ve seen the show several times before when I recently learned close friend had never experienced the Phantom it was time to head to the Majestic Theatre again!

Starring Howard McGillin, Marni Raab, Tim Martin Gleason and many more the Phantom of the Opera is a magical and haunting production that pulls you in and never lets you go. The music transcends and you’ll find yourself humming the songs long after you leave.

There are many CD’s you can buy but the best one is Highlights from The Phantom of the Opera. Save money and order it online. You can get the CD for $25 at the theatre but you can also find it online for about $13.

When it comes to getting tickets for the show ALWAYS go to www.broadwaybox.com first as they often have discounts on The Phantom of the Opera for as much as 50% off and all the top seats are available and you don’t have to chance it and wait in line that day hoping you’ll get a decent seat.

We got tickets for just $60 and we had the best seats in the house, front row mezzanine. The best seats to see the Phantom of the Opera are the first rows of the mezzanine so you can take in the entire production without having to worry about someone tall sitting in front of you like what you’re dealing with when you’re in the orchestra. Also try to get an aisle seat if you can.

The music is by Andrew Lloyd Webber and they lyrics are by Charles Hart. To give you a taste of the magic here are the lyrics from one of my favorite songs:

 The Music of the Night.

Nighttime sharpens, heightens each sensation
Darkness wakes and stirs imagination
Silently the senses abandon their defenses
Helpless to resist the notes I write
For I compose the music of the night

Slowly, gently night unfurls its splendor.
Grasp it, sense it tremulous and tender
Hearing believing music is deceiving
Hard as lightning soft as candlelight
dare you trust the Music of the night

Close your eyes for your eyes will only tell the truth
And the truth isn’t what you want to see.
In the dark it is easy to pretend
that the truth is what it ought to be.

Softly, deftly music shall caress you…
Hear it, feel it secretly possess you…

Open up your mind let your fantasies unwind
in this darkness which you know you cannot fight

the darkness of the music of the night…

Close your eyes start a journey through a strange new world

All thoughts of the world you knew before!
Close your eyes and let music set you free…
Only then can you belong to me…
Floating, falling sweet intoxication!
Touch me, trust me savor each sensation…

Let the dream begin let your darker side give in
to the power of the music that I write

the power of the music of the night…You alone can make my song take flight
Help me make the music of the night
