I’ve traveled a lot around the Caribbean so when I was looking for a quick place to go to shoot one of my video spotlight pieces for ABC’s new national travel show that I’m hosting the Dominican Republic seemed like a great fit.
I picked the Dominican Republic to feature as a top fall and winter escape because it’s only about four hours from New York City and in the Dominican Republic you can find some really great travel deals and affordable Caribbean hotels and restaurants.
For my trip I stayed at the legendary Casa de Campo, a resort that covers thousands of acres and is really more like a small city. This top rated luxury resort in the Caribbean was first developed about 40 years ago and is one of the first resorts to help jump start tourims in the Dominican Republic.
