So it looks like I’m going to need to go back and visit a TRAVEL THERAPY favorite in San Juan, Puerto Rico.Still hard to believe it was more than four years ago when I first visited The San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino when the property helped me set up a very cool adventure trip in San Juan.

I caught up with the hotel’s Director of Marketing, Julian Cable-Treadwell, when he was recently in Manhattan and he shared some of the exciting news about the property. Since I was there last The San Juan Marriott has undergone a major renovation from rooms to restaurants, with an investment of close to 40 million dollars. Impressive, especially in this economy!

One of the big changes includes a new lobby lounge renamed the “Red Coral Lounge” ( seen above in the photo) where the giant red coral is actually a wood sculpture designed by famous wood sculpturist Neftali Maldonado who is considered one of the best Puerto Rican indigenous wood artists AND holds the Guinness world record for the largest wooden Pilon sculpture. Pretty cool, right?

It sounds like I won’t even recognize the place so that means it’s definitely time I go back and find out all the new fun ways this property can provide a great TRAVEL THERAPY experience. Stay tuned!
