I always love learning about new TRAVEL THERAPY venues in New York City and that’s exactly what I found this past weekend!

Okay, so the Jazz at Lincoln Center venue isn’t actually new, but it’s new to me and this weekend was a win-win because I not only fell in love with the Jazz at Lincoln Center venue I also learned about a new similar venue that’s going to open next year in San Francisco.

This all came about when I had the pleasure of attending a performance at Jazz at Lincoln Center of the eight member SFJAZZ Collective, a group of some of the finest performers/composures working in Jazz right now. The group is based in San Francisco, California, and members have come together from all over the world to create upbeat, innovative and inspiring Jazz.

The SFJAZZ Collective made a stop in New York City as part of a special tour the group’s doing promoting its music and the fact that the SFJAZZ Collective is getting its own beautiful new concert hall that’s scheduled to open next year. It will be the first stand-alone concert hall in the western U.S. dedicated to jazz. The founder and Executive Artistic Director, Randall Kline, talked about how much the stunning Jazz at Lincoln Center venue inspired them to have their own concert hall.

I have to agree, listening to Jazz, in such a beautiful venue, where huge floor to ceiling windows make New York City a breathtaking and always changing backdrop, is magical.
