I’ve always wanted to visit France’s famed Bordeaux wine region and find out first hand why Bordeaux wines are always listed as some of the best wines in the world and if that wasn’t enough reason for jumping on a plane, this region of France is also known as a top culinary destination. A win-win all the way around!

I love drinking red wine, those BIG reds that are as elegant as they are bold, so going to Bordeaux and actually taking part in a grape harvest was a dream come true!

It’s amazing that around Bordeaux there are more than 5,000 wine chateaus that are open to the public so deciding where to go for the best French wine tasting and where to stay and eat and play can  be overwhelming.

After you’ve done all the wine sipping your liver can handle you can’t miss heading south and checking out some of France’s best beaches. These fantsatic French beach villages are the true hidden gems of France. They offer that authentic, quaint vibe that’s as addicting as the wine and you can get some great prices, especially if you avoid the popular tourist months of July and August.

Some of my favorite top French cities include: Biarritz ( Surfer Capitol of France) and Saint Jean de Luz.

I loved this area of France so much I wrote a Top 20 list for the Huffington Post with some awesome photos from the region. You won’t want to miss this top travel feature on France because it highlights all the best things to do in the Bordeaux and Basque Region as well as gives insider tips on where to score the best deals!
