favorite award-winning private island resort that I try to visit as much as possible is getting ready to unveil its exciting new “look” after an impressive 35-million dollar renovation that closed the resort for more than a year. I saw some of the improvements when I was there about a month ago and it’s unbelievable how the already impressive island has continued to exceed expectations. Now here’s how you can be one of the first to sign up to experience this incredible property and get to experience one of the top private islands in the world.
What I find really impressive is that after winning just about every award in the book, Jumby Bay Resort, a private island off of Antigua in the West Indies decided despite the difficult economy that it was time to spend more than 35-million dollars to rejuvenate the island, to make sure it continues to offer the kind of service and casual luxury people have come to know and love. This meant shutting down the main resort for more than a year, a huge investment in time and money.
Now the “new” Jumby Bay has a stunning new oceanfront infinity pool, new oceanfront suites right on the beach, a new spa, new restaurants and much more.
While still keeping its exclusive charm by allowing no cars, billboards, or strip malls on the island Jumby Bay’s renewal is more about adding luxury and value to a resort that was already at the top of its game. I guess that’s how the best stays the best by moving forward, despite the economy, when everyone else is pulling back.
Jumby Bay has just started taking reservations for its reopening and repeat guest will recognize reservation specialist Avonelle Tonge who is back to welcome old friends and new guest to the island. Avonelle can answer any reservation questions you may have. You can contact her at jumbybay@rosewoodhotels.com or by calling 268-462-6000.
I’ll be heading back soon for the official opening, stay tuned for more photos and videos from Jumby Bay!
