You know when you’re having an event at the iconic award-winning New York Palace Hotel it’s going to be a show stopper. From the stunning venue and inspiring cuisine, to the genuine and impeccable service the Palace is phenomenal when it comes to creating magic and I feel so truly honored that the Palace hosted my Travel Therapy book launch celebration party!
There are so many fantastic venues at the Palace to hold an event but the Madison Room, where we had the Travel Therapy cocktail party, is my personal favorite because the classic beauty of the room blends seamlessly with a chic but still comfortable vibe. I’m all about having a swanky venue but it has to feel warm and “real” and the Madison Room does that and so much more.
It is those small, personal touches that make an event so memorable and last night the Palace did an incredible job making sure that each guest felt welcome, including paying special attention to my 93 year old grandmother who had flown in from Seattle just for the event. It was the first time she had been on a plane in decades but she said she wasn’t missing a chance to celebrate my first book.
I was so honored to have her and other members of my family there and so relieved and grateful to see how the Palace staff treated my grandmother to make sure she was comfortable and taken care of, but then this kind of above and beyond service the Palace staff is legendary for.
Another hit of the evening was the “TravelTini” created exclusively for the Travel Therapy book! I had the idea to have a drink that was festive and refreshing, a liquid vacation in a glass, and I worked with the mixologist at Gilt who whipped up exactly what I was looking for. I cannot tell you how many people commented how much they loved their TravelTini and now want the recipe so they can continue their “Travel Therapy”.
As far as a first book launch party goes I couldn’t have asked or dreamed of a more perfect night. The guest list included a powerful mix of media and creatives that all took time out of their busy lives to celebrate my new book Travel Therapy: Where Do You Need to Go? and that means more than I can say.
I created the book and travel therapy website because I truly believe in the concept of Travel Therapy and how travel can inspire and transform. I’m so grateful I had the opportunity last night to share the book with everyone and thank those who have supported me in this journey as well as meet new friends that I’m looking forward to working with in the future.
This is only just the beginning and what a trip it has already been!
Thank you again New York Palace Hotel and everyone who attended the celebration for making this Travel Therapy event truly memorable!
