Just met with the executive director of the very hip and cool International Festival of Arts and Ideas out of New Haven, Connecticut, Mary Lou Aleskie, and it sounds like this special festival is the perfect TRAVEL THERAPY find!
I always love meeting people who are passionate about what they do and that’s Mary Lou and after a few minutes of hearing about the unique International Festival of Arts and Ideas you can’t help but be inspired and intrigued.
This will be the 15th year for the festival that runs about two weeks in June and has venues all around New Haven and on the Yale college campus.
The festival has a multi-cultural flavor, partnering with different experts in the arts from around the world from Ireland to Australia.
One of the highlights is that about 80 percent of the programs offered at the festival are absolutely free. You have to love and appreciate that in this difficult economy!
And speaking about the economy… I’ve always believed when times are tough it’s more important than ever to broaden your horizons, try new things, think outside the box and keep a positive attitude. By attending top art festivals like this one you can be inspired, empowered and anything is possible.
It’s like what I say with TRAVEL THERAPY, change your attitudes by changing your environment and what better way to experience new things than to attend a creative arts festival filled with world-class performances, art talks with renowned experts and artist and actual masterpieces, some of which you can only see at this festival. The focus is music, dance and theatre and making the experience accessible to everyone and anyone who is interested in the arts.
So mark your calendars for this festival starting June 12 and stay tuned for more as I’ll be attending and reporting back!
